As the big kids head back to school, help your little one get ready to read!

Inspired by children’s librarians, early literacy experts, and educators, we create monthly calendars of fun literacy activities that are easy to incorporate into your everyday routine. We know that literacy begins at home and that, despite busy lives, there are lots of little things parents can do with their children to start building those important skills.

Talking, singing, reading, and playing—these activities provide a language-rich environment and a solid foundation for future literacy. This kind of “head start” pays off for years to come.

We hope you’ll print off our calendar and incorporate these activities into your day. We also encourage weekly visits to the library, singing in the car, dance parties, playdates, and outdoor adventures!

September Highlights
